- The key functions executed by the CSSD unit include
1. Decontamination
This crucial step involves the thorough cleaning and removal of all contaminants including blood, tissues, and other organic materials from medical instruments and equipment along with rigorous processes like manual cleaning and automated washers to ensure getting rid of any potential for infection transmission.
2. Sterilization
After the decontamination process, the CSSD unit employs various sterilization methods to eliminate all potential microorganisms that may remain on the instruments.
We use different sterilization methods including steam sterilization, and chemical sterilization as well.
